Those who know me know that I spend a ton of time online. I have a process that generally begins with checking Twitter, seeing something cool/interesting that someone has tweeted and reading about it. That article or post will give way to another that is recommended by the site and so on. When I run out of things to read on that site, I'll go back to Twitter and repeat.
This process yields many open tabs at once - and almost as many ideas that pop up. I have been trying to find an efficient way of jotting down or recording these ideas and the webpages that spurred them...but it hasn't been easy. Until now.
Enter thinkery (http://thinkery.me) - a web app that "helps you focus on the important things and lets you access tons of information in an instant." They bill it as "your extended brain on steroids" and I have to agree.
Thinkery allows you to quickly type a thought or note into your own free web-based brain space or you can use the bookmarklet to save a web page by right clicking on it with.
Organizing these items is a snap with the familiar #tag function. Want to keep a to-do list? Simply type in that thing you have to remember along with #todo and you instantly create a to-do list category. Once it's done, you can archive or delete the task.
Best of all, it's free. Give it a shot today at http://thinkery.me.
I was at South Plains Mall Saturday and, being directionally challenged as I am, got turned around several times while looking for particular stores. To make matters worse, the usually easy-to-identify, giant mall maps were nowhere to be found.
I thought aloud, "It'd be cool to have a mall GPS map." And it would be...however, due to my lack of knowledge in the realm I had no clue where to start.
Alas, there is no need as the smart folks at Point Inside have created a free iPhone and Android app that does just that. They have mapped out major malls and airports across the country, making it a useful download. On top of that, it's free.
